Italy, Why is it Worth Going again?
3. South Italy Route: Rome - Alberobello - Naples - Amalfi Coast - Sicily
First stop: Alberobello
To Bari and walk into the fairy town of Alberobello.
The town has hundreds of " mushroom-like " houses, conical roofs, falling like little elf hats, with a playful and lovely sense of mystery.
These white-walled and gray-roofed spire buildings have a special name called " Trulli ", which was listed as a World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO in 1996 .
NovalandTours' private tips :
Miratrulli Suites in Alberobello is located at the junction of the old and new towns. From the balcony on the second floor, you can see the panoramic view of the Trulli district. The train station is also only a 10- minute walk away.
Second stop: Naples
The Italian said: "When you reach Naples, you can die in the evening . "
This old seaside town in southern Italy is sunny, with the sea and the sky, opposite to the ancient city of Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius.
The Castel dell'Ovo (Egg Castle) is the oldest castle in Naples. Legend has it that a wizard put a god egg in the castle. If the egg is broken, the castle will disappear. So I went to such an interesting name.
However, the Egg Castle has now become the most lively place in Naples. The surrounding bars and restaurants are lined up with great excitement. Climb to the castle in the evening, and you can have a panoramic view of the most romantic seascape and sunset in Naples.
The Royal Palace of Naples is low-key on the outside, but extremely luxurious on the inside. The main colors of gold, yellow, and purple show the nobility of the royal family. The Baroque architecture, marble statues, and countless rooms all show the prosperity of the Bourbon dynasty.
The ancient city of Pompeii is not far from Naples. This ancient city that was destroyed overnight was once a holiday resort for the rich and powerful to visit, carrying the flourishing prosperity of the Roman Empire. A glimmer of the glory of ancient Rome can still be glimpsed in the ruins and frescoes.
Third stop: Amalfi Coast
From Naples to the south, the Amalfi Coast , stretching for a full 50 kilometers, is the most beautiful coastline in the entire Mediterranean and has been rated as one of the 50 most worthwhile destinations in the world.
The winding coastal road is built on the coastal cliffs, dotted with several charming coastal cliff towns, the most famous of which are Positano and Amalfi.
Positano is backed by the mountains and facing the sea. Small white houses are pouring down from the mountainside like a waterfall and pouring into the embrace of the Mediterranean Sea. There are no streets in the town. There are only stone steps winding through the houses, flowers, and trees.
Amalfi is the central town on the coast, with sunny squares and beaches, blue waters and brightly colored buildings complement each other. There are also Baroque-style Amalfi Cathedral (Italian: Duomo di Amalfi), Armory and Museum Of Paper in the town to visit~
Fourth stop: Sicily
" If you don't go to Sicily, it's like you haven't been to Italy, because in Sicily you can find the source of Italy's beauty. "
As the largest island in the Mediterranean, from Al Pacino's "The Godfather" to Monica Bellucci's "The Beautiful Legend of Sicily", it has always shown its pure and original appearance.
The blue ocean, bright sunshine, warm humidity, old churches and colorful buildings ... The Italian style is brought to the extreme on this small island.
You can go to Teatro Massimo to listen to an opera, go to Cefalù, look for "Cinema Paradiso", you can also overlook Mount Etna by the sea in Taormina, or sit in Piazza del Duomo Siracusa and imagine the graceful posture of Malena walking past here on high heels ...
// Write at the end //
Italy is good, only knowing after you have been there. From south to north, every place here is worth your time to stop for it.
